Christina began her work with children in 1988 as a school teacher and soon found her passion in supporting families navigate through life. At the core of Christina's work is her focus on Wellness and creating balance through Mindfulness Based Family Life Skills.
After experiencing the death of her father as a nine year old, Christina searched for meaningful ways of expression. Her personal journey paved the way for her professional experience later in life. Christina facilitated counseling groups and Guided Visualization focused on psychoneuroimmunology with cancer patients and care-givers. She also has extensive experience working directly with adolescents & teens and speaks to parents in local schools on the topic of parenting through Mindfulness Based Family Life Skills.
Christina volunteers with residential teen mindfulness retreats and attends workshops and retreats for her own self-care and wellness. She earned her masters degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University and her credentials in school counseling and psychology from Loyola Marymount University. She is a trained behavior analyst and has volunteered in the autism community through Los Angeles Families for Effective Autism Treatment (LAFeat.org) for many years and was on the LAFeat Board, supporting newly diagnosed families.
Currently, she continues her practice with Mindful Schools, UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center and attends trainings and seminars through Insight LA, Compassion LA and Against The Stream. Trained as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) facilitator, Christina provides these courses through out the south bay for our tweens and teens.
She is the Counselor at Chadwick School in Palos Verdes Peninsula and currently has a small private practice. Christina is the mother of two teenage boys and has lived in the South Bay with her family for over twenty years. She is deeply committed to a balanced family life and hopes to share her personal journey and professional experience with the South Bay Community.
